My father didn’t talk much about the war but he told me one story about witnessing a B-17 in one formation being hit presumably by flak going into a spin and not seeing the ten member crew with their chutes come out of the bomber stop
I think what he saw affected him deeply for much of the rest of his life after the war as it indirectly affected myself as well stop
This is what Memorial Day means to me not a three day weekend for we the leisure class stop
